Springs and rivers

The Ried, with its Rhine landscape and many brooks and streams, has, amongst other things, the particularity of having a very high groundwater level. Indeed, the groundwater comes up to the surface, which explains why you find phreatic springs, also called resurgences. Phreatic rivers are numerous. They are called "Brunnwasser" (spring water).
